I'm usually a fan of Pym, and this book does have her trademark irony and subtle wit, but somehow it doesn't sing in the way I'd expected it to. In addition, whilst most of the men in a Pym novel are really rather weak, here they're downright nasty and definitely shallow.
Mind you, working as I do in a University, I did enjoy the academic setting and thought it was very well done.
Otherwise, fairly forgettable, I'm afraid.
